What type of leather is used in the Original Wildwood Bag?

We use full-grain, oil-tanned leather in our brown leather Original Wildwood Bags. It’s strong, naturally weather-resistant, and develops a rich, personalized patina over time. No two bags age the same, which is exactly the point. You can view the specs on all of our leathers in our leather care guide.

How is the bag constructed? Is it lined?

We intentionally keep our bags unlined to highlight the natural beauty of the leather inside and out. The construction is minimal but incredibly strong, with reinforced seams where it counts.

How heavy is the bag when empty?

Our Original Wildwood Bag is designed to be substantial but not bulky. It’s roomy without feeling weighed down, even when loaded up for a full day out. The dock line handles are comfortable on the shoulder—even over a heavy coat. A lot of our customers who are concerned about weight opt for a crossbody or our smaller bags like the Mermaid Purse, Sling, or Zip Crossbody.

How limited are your leathers and rope colors?

Some of our leathers and rope colors are core to the brand—others are limited editions. If you see a combination you love, don’t wait too long. Our community tends to act fast on special drops.

Will this bag hold its shape over time?

Yes, especially if you store it in its original dust bag. That said, we design our bags to break in and take on the shape of your life—that’s part of the charm.

How do I care for my Wildwood Bag?

The leather is rugged and built to last. We recommend conditioning it a few times a year to keep it looking its best. You can also send your bag for some pampering at the Wildwood Bag Spa if you'd like us to recondition your bag, change your rope handle, or convert it to a crossbody!

Do Wildwood Bags come with a warranty?

We stand by the quality of our craftsmanship. If anything doesn’t hold up the way it should, we’re here to make it right.
